Hello, my name is...

ANDREA RELOVA

I am a Product Designer with a background in computer science. I'm interested in applying these disciplines in order to deliver digital results that prioritize end users.

Selected Work

Some work I would like to share.

Red Ventures
Product Design Internship 2022:

At Red Ventures, I worked under the Talent Creative team under Learning & Development, primarily working on a feature on the company's intranet called My Career Hub. My Career Hub is a centralized resource that helps employees own their own career, with information on topics like Career Trajectories, Skill Development, and Career Changes. The Hub was created by translating content from a dense PDF booklet into a user-centric experience.

This involved identifying stakeholders and collaborators, managing collaboration and expectations throughout the summer, and building out a road map and design strategy. Wireframes were designed on Figma and were shown in several feedback sessions with stakeholders. Finally, I implemented My Career Hub on StoryBlok.

I also organized and ran focus groups of interns to test user experience on RV's Early Career recruiting site. The data that came from those will play a crucial role in the strategy to revamp the Early Career web presence and talent brand.

Quantum Interface
UX Design Internship 2021:

I spent the summer of 2021 interning for a startup based in Austin, Texas called Quantum Interface. Quantum Interface specializes in vector-based predictive User Interface Design, which is mainly carried out in AR/VR systems and occasionally web and app development. As a Software Engineering and Design Intern, I familiarized myself with QI’s Javascript SDK for their technology called “QPoints” (there is an example of a QPoint on their website, linked above) and applied it to several websites.

I was able to participate in UX Design and Web Development during my internship. For example, I designed, developed, and applied a QPoint to the website for a nonprofit organization called Summits4Sight. I also designed several QPoints on Figma for a few other websites.

At my internship, I collaborated with QI’s UX Designer, Lead Project Manager, CTO, Lead Software Engineer, and DevOps Engineer in order to accomplish my tasks.

About

Bio:

I am a fourth-year computer science student (minoring in linguistics) at the University of Florida who has both coding and design experience. I am interested in product design, UI/UX design, and product management because I want to combine equitable design with my own personal style; that is, I want to design for accessibility whilst taking inspiration from the modern aesthetic trends.

I am also very passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion and I aim to create inclusive spaces in the places I occupy. From November 2020 - November 2021, I have been lucky to serve as the Kappa Eta chapter of Alpha Phi International Women’s Sorority’s VP of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. In this position, I lead a team of three directors and two committees in order to create policies and educational tools for our members relating to DEI. For instance, we created a three-hour “retreat” for our members to learn about topics like identity and privilege right before our Formal Recruitment. I hope to combine this passion of mine with my career one day to encourage women and those from marginalized groups in STEM and the tech industry.

When I am not at work, school or working for Alpha Phi, I enjoy practicing yoga (three years of practice in the making!), cooking, exploring local coffee shops, and playing video games.
